(00:00) How are you? I'm I'm fantastic. And you look great now. That looks really really good. The Sentinel. That looks And you play a Secret Service agent. Yes. And And what is what else? It's a good cast. Phenomenal cast. Uh Michael Douglas, Kim Basinger, Eva Longoria. Uh just fantastic people to work with.
(00:20) And then you you trained with the Secret Service to prepare for it. We did. Yeah, we worked with them for a couple weeks. Uh and what did you learn? What's the what's can you give? We focus on every specific detail. I remember we spent a whole day uh we were going to work on just opening the door to the presidential limo.
(00:38) I thought, how could you spend a whole day on that? Uh and then I found out that the door weighed 180 pounds. Really? Yeah. And uh and there's a very specific way you have to open it. But all kinds of stuff. Every law enforcement officer in the country is trained to draw their weapon, aim at a target, and then take the safety of their weapon off.
(00:57) Uh secret service agents draw their weapon and remove the safety. all at the same time. Uh, generally, well, not generally, if a Secret Service agent draws their weapon, they have every intention of using it. They don't ask you to stop. They don't ask you to freeze. And so, these people are really forced to make life decisions in four or five seconds whether or not someone is a threat either to the first lady or the president or whoever their protective is.
(01:22) Uh, and their commitment to their job and their responsibility is really amazing. That's a it's a job I wouldn't want. I mean, literally, your job is to run if someone's if a if someone pulls a gun out to run in front and take that bullet. Yeah. That's not a good job. No. And so, last time you were here also, uh, or since the last time you were here, you have This is ins How old are you? 39. 39 years old.
(01:46) And you're a grandfather now. Yeah. How is that possible? It's Oh, thank you. How is that possible? It's a long story. Um, I got married when I was 19 and the woman that I married, Chamilleia, had uh an eight-year-old daughter whose father had passed away when she was three. And so, I've raised her since she was eight and she is now 29 and uh she had she got married two years ago and had a baby nine months after the wedding.
(02:16) And Wow. Yeah. Wow. They timed it perfect. Just nine months after. Yeah. That's that's great. That night was good for them. Months and Yeah. Um, what a coincidence. And, uh, so, uh, that's And how old is the baby now? Uh, just over a year. Oh, what's the name of the baby? Hamish. Hamish. Boy, girl, boy. Boy, I don't know.
(02:36) It's a It's a It's a Scottish name. And, uh, the Scottish side of our family loves that name and the Puerto Rican side of our family does not. I like Hamish. It's a good name. There's a lot of Nobody has names like, you know, see, Chameleia, Ellen likes the name. Yeah, I do like the name. Um, all right. So, so 24 is is uh doing better than ever and uh you just signed a tremendous deal. Congratulations on that.
(03:05) Uh and well, the show, like I said, I mean, the show is just hotter than ever. And now, uh I think we should do that because I think what what's so interesting about it is you do the multiscreen, all the things going on at once and the clock and everything. So, I thought we should try that while we have a few more minutes to look.
(03:25) There's you right now and then we have me talking to you and then we have the control room or no, we have me with you. Oh, that's good. That's exactly what we need. So, while we're counting down the rest of the interview, um they there's going to be a movie. Is 24 going to be a movie? We're talk we're trying. Yeah. Um it would be the first thing that we do obviously that isn't in real time.
(03:46) Uh, the 2-hour film would be representative I'm trying desperately not to look at. Look at that. I like it. No. Uh, the 2-hour movie would be representative of 24-hour day. So, we would not shoot it in real time, which is a fantastic opportunity for the writers. It gives them a lot more freedom. Right. And you're still looking at it.
(04:02) No, I'm looking at you. Okay. But I can see that, too. And I like it. Uh, it's cool. I think we should do because people get bored. They like to see all the different things. It's helped us immensely. Yeah. No, it's a really good idea. Um, anyway, congratulations and good seeing you again. And, uh, the sandal opens in the tomorrow.
(04:24) 24 airs Mondays at 9 on Fox.
